"Andes Plateau buys the grapes for this chardonnay near the foot of the Andes in Maule, from vineyards on colluvial soils, of volcanic origin, planted in the early 2000s. Aged only in cement for six months (this is the first time it has no oak), it has a delicious saline character that's combined with notes of citrus and white fruits in a very grippy body that sticks to the palate with its acidity and tight texture, one of the main attributes of this chardonnay. For shellfish marinated in lemon." |
Description:
"This winery founded by winemaker Felipe Uribe is defined as a project focused on high-altitude wines with a mountain influence. It first came onto the scene with the launch of Andes Plateau 700, a red blend from two originsâPirque (Maipo) and Alcohuaz (Elqui). Today, Andes Plateauâs catalog includes other labels, such as Cota 500 Cabernet Sauvignon and Cota 500 Merlot. For many years, Uribe was the winemaker at the William Fèvre winery, where he made wines with a mountain character. Uribe owns Andes Plateau in partnership with his family." - Descorchados
