"Bright medium ruby. Aromas of black raspberry, licorice, mocha and flowers lifted by a hint of black pepper and complicated by an inky suggestion of Petit Verdot. Energetic flavors of blackberry, dark raspberry, cherry, spices and flowers are complicated by a saline quality and nicely framed by ripe, harmonious acidity. This penetrating blend conveys a lovely restrained sweetness. The tannins spread out to saturate the palate on the rising finish."

Description:

The Callisto is a Left Bank Bordeaux blend that features Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Merlot. It is the fullest style of wine that they make and it both powerful and balanced. It all comes from the Stillwater Creek Vineyard and there were only 299 cases in the entire production!

Lots of dark fruit notes on the palate with notes of blackberry, dark cherry, and cedar. The wines structure is strong with heavy tannins, massive body, and a long savory earthy finish. While we suggest decanting the wine if you are to consume it young, this is the kind of wine that you can keep around for the next decade. A great bottle of wine from one of the best producers in Washington!
