91 Pts Josh Raynolds - Vinous Media	Ruby-red. Aromas of ripe berries, cherry and spicecake are complemented by subtle woodsmoke and floral nuances. Concentrated raspberry and bitter cherry flavors become livelier and sweeter with air, picking up a suggestion of candied flowers. Dusty tannins emerge slowly on a very long, sappy finish that echoes the floral and spice notes.

"Every year it seems that our Luna Matta Sangiovese gets closer to our ideal of great Italian Sangiovese. The nose and palate of cherry are straight out of Tuscany. The flavors have a purity and intensity reflecting this fine vintage and our decision to eschew the use of new oak for this bottling. Elements of cedar, pencil lead and bay leaf add elements of intrigue. The finish is persistent and may just last forever if given the chance." - Winery
