90 Pts Mark Squires - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate |
The 2017 Rosé is a roughly equal blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Alvarinho coming in at 12.5% alcohol. Aromatic and very concentrated for a Vinho Verde pink, this is really a lighter-styled red. It seems more Douro than Vinho Verde as a pink. There's some moderate power on the finish too. It still has acidity, but that is not going to be the attention-getting feature here. First, the concentration, then the aromatics and then the nice finish. In many respects, you could say "Wow." This won't be the wine they can make in their terroir every year, I suspect, but this year's version is certainly intriguing. |
Description:
This hand harvested Rose is complex, fresh, and vibrant with a ton of notes of strawberry, cranberry and pure minerality. You can have it with something as easy as an oyster, or complex as pork chops. This is one of the best bang for your buck rose on the market.
