Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

93 Pts Jeb Dunnuck - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The 2012 Cotes Catalanes Cuvee Nicolas is an off-the-hook value. Named after Jean-Marc's son and made from 100% Grenache from higher elevation sites in the Aspres region, fermented with 20% stems and aged half in demi-muid, it offers layers of kirsch, underbrush, licorice and serious floral notes in its medium to full-bodied, elegant and seamless profile. Getting a big 'wow' in the notes and showing fine tannin and serious length, it should be snatched up by savvy readers and consumed over the coming 3-4 years."

"Run by the talented (and fast driving) Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage, from their cellar located just outside of Perpignan (which is being completely renovated), this estate includes vineyards spread throughout the Roussillon, allowing them to make the most of the diverse terroirs and micro-climates. I struggle to think of another portfolio that encompasses anywhere close to this level of value, and the average quality to price (QPR) for these wines is just hard to believe. I've included the Chateau Saint Roch and Saint Roch (mostly Maury-basedbased) releases here as well, as they're made at the estate and were part of the tasting I had with Jean-Marc." (4/14)

Description:

WINE:
"One of the oldest viticultural areas of France, vines in the Roussillon were cultivated by the Romans, and perhaps even before that. With some of the most dramatic topography in France, many of the zones are composed of extremely steep hillsides - resembling the Priorat in Spain in many ways."

"One of the most sought-after winemakers of Europe at the moment, Jean-Marc Lafage, lends his expertise with Southern European varietals to several top estates in both France and Spain (he makes Evodia and Novellum with Eric Solomon among other custom cuvee projects). However, his best work is perhaps at home at his estate in the hills of the Roussillon with his wife, Eliane, also a highly accomplished winemaker."

"The grapes used to create this are handpicked in the spring to concentrate the grapes. Cold maceration happens prior to alcoholic fermentation for 7 days. Plunging down the cap in open fermenters and another 22 days of maceration occurs with subsequent draining into barrels and aged on lees for 6 months without filtration." -Importer
