Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

Cellar Selection
"An amazing and impressive feat of winemaking, this riserva is so tightly wound with gorgeous aromatic intensity, it peels back, layer after layer, and evolves smoothly the more you leave it in the glass. Not drinking it immediately is difficult because of the delicious quality of fruit on display here and the lush, soft mouthfeel, but this should be at its best after 2018. -ML" (05/13)

95 Pts Antonio Galloni - Vinous

"A drop-dead gorgeous wine, the 2007 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Capanna caresses the palate with freshly cut flowers, sweet red berries, spices, licorice and mint. Layered, polished and exceptionally beautiful, the 2007 impresses for its silkiness and finesse. This is one of the most feminine, gracious wines of the year. It is also one of the freshest wines of the vintage. All in all, these wines are a terrific showing from La Capanna." (09/13)

94 Pts James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com

"Aromas of plums and blackberries with hints of dark chocolate. Full body, with super integrated tannins and a long refined finish. Chewy yet balanced. Needs another year of bottle age to come together." (02/13)

90 Pts Ian Dagata - Vinous Media

"Dark red. A whiff of alcohol on the nose clears with aeration to offer expressive ripe red cherry, raspberry and caramel aromas. Then fresher and livelier in the mouth than the nose would suggest, showing peppery red cherry and strawberry jam flavors complicated by cinnamon, vanilla and toffee nuances. The finish is long and clear, with floral and ripe red cherry notes but also a trace of alcoholic heat. Still, this is much better and riper than the 2008 Brunello normale." (08/13)

Description:

"Very heavy bottle! Impenetrable dark ruby with orange tinges. Subdued with hints of shoe polish and rich strawberry jam. Quite intense and sweet on the palate with good acidity. Huge extract and in need of ageing. Drink from 2014 to 2022. (WS)" (01/13) - 16 out of 20 Points, Jancis Robinson's Purple Pages.

Wine/Winemaking:
"Thick muscular and broad on the palate with aromas of plums and blackberries with notes of dark chocolate. The powerful core underlies the fleshy exterior of the wine. Full-bodied with a long aftertaste. Harvested by hand and immediately destemmed, the grapes fermented on their skins for 30 days in temperature controlled Slovenian oak vats, after which the wine was transferred to age in large Slovenian oak uprights." - Importer

Producer:
"Located north of Montalcino in Montosoli, Capanna was bought by the Cencioni family in 1957. This small estate dedicated to farming and vinifying Sangiovese Grosso is comprised of some of the best vineyards in Brunello, The vineyards are planted on a south-southeast facing slope on Galestro, a schist based soil which encourages slow and even ripening. No chemical fertilizers or herbicides are used and every effort is made to farm naturally. Capanna crafts modern wines that emphasize the fruit-forward components of the Sangiovese Grosso grape while allowing full expression of the rich terroir upon which the grapes are grown." - Importer
