The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!
Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

95 Pts Robert Parker - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate |
"This is one of my all-time favorite wines from Domaine de Chevalier, a silky, rather classic Pessac-Leognan with notes of scorched earth, tobacco leaf and black and red currants, but no hard edges. Fragrant, complex aromatics are followed by a savory, expansively flavored wine made from a final blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. The wine hit 13.5% natural alcohol, which must certainly be among the highest they have ever achieved, even eclipsing the 2009. An opulent, precocious style of wine that seems much more developed, complex and delicious than I thought from barrel, this beauty can be drunk in 5-6 years or cellared for 20 or more." (02/13) |
95 Pts Wine Enthusiast |
"Firm and closed, this is a wine with so much power and concentration. It also has beautiful fruit, smooth and opulent, that merges into the complex tannins and brooding, dark structure. It will take many years for this wine to open up. - R.V." (05/13) |
93+ Pts Stephen Tanzer - Vinous Media |
"Saturated, bright ruby-red. Vibrant aromas of cassis, plum and minerals, plus a hint of hot stones. Then juicy but tight and imploded in the mouth, showing terrific concentration and grip to its flavors of black fruits, minerals and licorice. Very cabernet in its precision and cut. Finishes with a solid spine for two or three decades of positive evolution in bottle. I would not want to touch this until at least 2020." (08/13) |
93 Pts Wine Spectator |
"This has drive and intensity, displaying lots of steeped currant, anise and blackberry coulis notes pushed by tar and briar flavors. The ample finish sports roasted juniper and iron accents, with nicely inlaid acidity to drive it all home. Should unwind nicely in the cellar. Best from 2015 through 2030. -JM" (2013) |
Description:
"The Domaine de Chevalier, located in Leognan, the capital town of the Graves region, has a long history. It appears on the map of the geographer and engineer, Pierre de Belleyme drawn in 1763 under the name of "Chibaley" (meaning knight, in the Gascon language). The very notion of domaine, that has been deliberately kept by the successive owners who never sought to replace it by the more recent appellation of "chateau", is the heritage of long and rich pages of history, highlighting the sense of balance that the current master of the house is so anxious to maintain. In 1983, the estate was purchased by the Bernard family, No. 1 in France on the spirits market and a major negociant of premium Bordeaux wines. It has been run ever since by Olivier Bernard. In line with the history of Chevalier, he perpetuates that spirit of balance and the constant drive for perfection which, over the last 130 years, have been the hallmark of this outstanding wine."
"Today, from the secret garden protected by the vast, surrounding forest, the estate has become a remarkably open haven where visitors, keen to imbue themselves with the spirit of the Graves region, can benefit from its longstanding tradition of hospitality. The red Domaine de Chevalier, the flagship of the Pessac Legonan appellation, belongs to the elite of the great classified growths of Bordeaux. The white Domaine de Chevalier, with the unusual feature of being remarkably well suited for cellaring, is recognised as one of the world's finest dry white wines." - Winery
