Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!
You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!
Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

"Offers layers of macerated date, ganache, warm caraway, buckwheat honey and chocolate-covered orange peel notes, with a deep, intense finish that lets a wonderfully smoky hint curl through. The power is obvious, the range and definition more subtle. Drink now. -J.M." (07/13) |
92 Pts Wine & Spirits |
"You can drink this wine at the end of a meal just for the pleasure of feeling its exuberant complexity and sweetness. But you can also add a couple drops to your vanilla ice cream and enjoy the way this PX dissolves its pecan pie and candied almond flavors in the chill of the vanilla. An ample wine, this has the texture of chocolate seconds before melting." (06/11) |

"The NV El Candado Pedro Ximenez, produced from sun-dried Pedro Ximenez grapes for two weeks, and aged in a solera for an average of 8-10 years, is bottled with 400 grams of sugar and 17% alcohol. Mahogany color, the nose is a symphony of candied, dried fruits, raisins, figs and dates. The palate is clean, very sweet and spicy, and should be consumed quite fresh (10?C), with chocolate dessert (or as a dessert in itself). Drink 2013-2015." |
Description:
"An intense color of mahogany with deep aromas of dried fruits (figs and raisins) and suble notes of chocolate and coffee. The palate is very smooth and velvety with prune notes and a very long finish." - Importer
Vinification and Aging:
"The PX grapes are dried in the sun before fermenting naturally in stainless steel. El Candado undergoes oxidative aging for over 10 years. There are 2 criaderas and the Solera." - Importer
Producer:
"The origins of this historic bodega date back to 1264 when Don Alfonso Valdespino was one of 24 Knights responsible for expelling the Moors from Jerez. As a reward for his efforts the king gave him land grants in the city of Jerez and thus began Bodegas Valdespino."
"The heart of Valdespino is its vineyards. They are the only sherry house to make a series of wines from a single vineyard. That vineyard, Macharnudo, is one of the "grand crus" of Jerez, located at the highest altitude and on pure Albariza soils (bright white chalk). The single vineyard Macharnudo wines are part of the Grandes Pagos de Espana, an elite group of very special vineyard sites and Valdespino is the only sherry house with this status."
"Add to these amazing standings that all Valdespino wines are fermented in aged oak and allow nature to decide their destiny! Almost all the houses in Jerez do the fermentations in stainless steel and inoculate the Flor to decide the destiny of the wines. They are also one of a few estates that take the solera system to the extreme going way beyond DO minimum regulations for all the categories. As an example Fino sherry is required to have 2 criaderas (nursery levels of the solera) and the DO average tends to be 3 - Valdespino's Fino Inocente has 10 Criaderas!"
"When it comes to food and wine pairings - sherry has a lot to contribute. One unusual aspect in this regard is that biologically aged wines (those aged under veil of flor) possess umami. This savory/earthy taste characteristic is very pronounced in the biologically aged wines of Valdespino because of not only their natural winemaking techniques but because the wines are aged well beyond the average for their peer group." - Importer
