You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Description:
This 2-pack includes 1 bottle of 2010 - Fulcrum Pinot Noir Brosseau, and 1 bottle of 2008 - Papapietro Perry Elsbree Pinot Noir Russian River.
2010 - Fulcrum Pinot Noir Brosseau:
"Deep ruby color; deep earthy aromas with some black cherry notes; deep, tight, dark cherry flavors with earthy, pepper notes; some tannin; good structure and balance; long finish. Deep, interesting Pinot that will reward a good hour plus of air." (09/12) - 91 Pts Pinot Report
Wine:
"Deep purple hue, dense and firm. Brooding nose of blueberry and pipe tobacco. Concentrated blueberry, blackberry, espresso and chocolate flavors abound. Finishes with mouth-coating tannins that bode well for aging. Bottled Unfiltered." - Winery
Brosseau Vineyard:
"Brosseau is truely one of California's premier vineyards. It is located in the historic Chalone Appellation of Monterey. Tucked into the Gavilan mountain range east of the Santa Lucia Highlands, this is a spectacular site for Pinot Noir. The property was originally planted in 1980 by Jon and Jan Brosseau. The vineyard is farmed organically and yields less than 2 tons per acre of dark concentrated fruit. The soil is comprised of limestone, decomposed granite, and volcanic rock. Fulcrum's blocks include clones 113, 114, 115 which we used in our 2011 Brosseau Pinot Noir. Brosseau fruit also serves as the backbone of our 2011 On Point Chalone." - Winery
Fulcrum:
"For David and Christinna Rossi, founders of Fulcrum Wines, the metaphor of a fulcrum being a point of balance for a lever is what their Pinot venture is all about. They strive for elegance and balance in their wines. David is the winemaker and began his winemaking career as a home winemaker with a basement packed full of equipment and barrels. David grew up in southern Arizona and worked in his family's restaurant business. After earning his bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Arizona and his master's from Carnegie Mellon, he went to work in the food industry. Christinna runs the sales and marketing side of of the winery. They founded Fulcrum Wines with the 2005 vintage and have gradually built relationships with some top Pinot vineyards. David makes the wines at a custom-crush facility in the Napa Valley. Pinot bottlings include vineyard designates from Brosseau Vineyard, Floodgate Vineyard, Gap's Crown Vineyard and Londer Vineyard, as well as proprietary blends called On Point." - Pinot Report
2008 - Papapietro Perry Elsbree Pinot Noir Russian River:
"Medium ruby color; complex red cherry and spice aromas; complex, deep, red cherry flavors with spice and earthy notes; IN THE MARKET: Recent Pinot Noir Reviews good structure and balance; long finish. Spicy and deep Pinot with great structure and fruit flavors. Needs time in the glass." - 94 Pts Pinot Report
Vineyard:
"Elsbree Vineyards is located in Windsor off Arata Lane. They continually produce excellent fruit. Planted on a steep knob, the vineyard has a mix of Pinot Clones on different rootstocks. This gives the grapes a superior field-blend of flavors; fruit with plenty of layers and superb depth. The Elsbree Vineyard is one of our warmest climate vineyards and is the first to arrive at the winery."
"We have carefully refined our winemaking techniques in a way that defines our unique Pinot Noirs. We cold soak the grapes two to three days before adding several different types of yeast, cultured specifically for Pinot Noir. During the seven to twelve days it takes to ferment, we hand-punch each fermenter, sometimes as often as five or six time a day to ensure that the temperature doesnât get too warm. Once the juice is fermented, we press the fruit and move the wine into Francois Freres French oak barrels, and then age for 11 months before bottling." - Winery
