Please note, this wine is from Tuscany, not Sardinia. We are in the process of fixing this error. Apologies for any confusion.

Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

88 Pts Antonio Galloni - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The 2010 Vermentino Leopoldino flows from the glass with layers of beautifully delineated varietal fruit. Bright floral notes add lift to white stone fruit and lemon in this classy Vermentino. The Leopoldino is a wine of considerable personality and is also a great value. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2015." (08/11)

Description:

Wine:
"85% Vermentino and 15% Viognier. Tasting notes: Straw yellow with greenish reflections, intense and fruity with floral notes as well. To full-bodied, well structured with a good balance between acidity and softness. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified separately. The squeezing air is very delicate. The juice is cooled and carefully decanted. The fermentation takes place in steel tanks heat-conditioned at a temperature of 20 degrees C, with the help of selected yeasts. At the end of fermentation, the wine remains in contact with its lees (yeast) for a few months, until a few days before the assembly of the Vermentino Viognier and then bottled." - Winery

Winery:
"Fattoria il Casalone is located along the southern costal area of Maremma in Tuscany, upstream from the Laguna of Orbetello. In this part of Tuscany, the cultivation of the grapevine dates back to the beginning of the 19th century as documented in the "Catasto Leopoldino", the land register office of the time, which contains a record of the Colombi vineyard which gave its name to the Poggio Colombi and Leopoldino wines of this estate."

"Nowadays, the vineyards are included in the Capalbio D.O.C. and IGT Maremma Toscana appellations. Under the direction of the agronomists Federico Curtaz and Stefano Bartolomei and in collaboration with the oenologist Paolo Caciorgna, this property is thriving to produce a most enjoyable Vermentino based wine. The proximity to the sea and the presence of hills which protect the north-eastern side of the terrain, along with soil composed of sand and gravel and rich in magnesium, makes for the perfect growing conditions for Vermentino,Viognier and Cabernet wines.
