Cinderella Wine says: Product Details:
This wine is available on presale and expected to arrive late next week.

Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

91 Pts Robert Parker - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape Clos du Roi (made from the same blend as the Vigne du Regent, but from slightly older vines) reveals the deepest color of the three 2007s, and is not as complex as the Vigne du Regent. The Syrah component dominates this wine's personality. Abundant blackberry and bacon notes intermixed with licorice and garrigue are presented in a powerful, tannic, structured style. This wine will benefit from another year of bottle age, and will drink well for 12-15+ years."

"The 2007s are the finest wines I have yet tasted from this estate, which has relatively large holdings (about 75 acres), mostly in the southern sector of Chateauneuf du Pape where the soils are sandy and gravelly. The 2008s are very good considering the challenges of this vintage. The stars of this portfolio are the 2007s." (08/09)

Description:

"Dark, subtle crimson. Rather tired sample. Very lush, sweet fruit – like super-ripe purple berries. Could do with just a little more gravitas perhaps. But very energetic. Like port + water + an electric current running through it. Rather light finish. Drink 2010 to 2016. (JR)" 16.5 out of 20 points, Jancis Robinson's Purple Pages (07/09)

WINE:
"2007: 78% Grenache and 22% Syrah. Vines are 20-40 years old. Fermented in troncated wooden casks and ageing in foudres or barriques for 12 months." Harry Karis, The Chateauneuf du Pape Wine Book

WINERY:
"Jacques Callet acquired the estate in 1996 and has since then renovated the buildings and has built a modern cellar equipped with-up-to date technical machinery for winemaking. Thus he has created a platform for making better wines than the property has been known for until Callet came in charge. The estate has quite many hectares with vines: 30 ha. of Chateauneuf du Pape, 20 ha. of Cotes du Rhone Village and 22 ha. of Cotes du Rhone. The vineyards are certified agriculture biologique since 2010." Chateauneuf Guide, chateauneuf.dk

"The vineyards in the Chateauneuf du Pape appellation cover 30 hectares, including 1 ha of white, and all located in the south of the appellation. With the exception of the plot in the lieu-dit La Nerthe (mostly clay and limestone) vineyards have mainly gravelly soil. Some of the Grenache vines are more than 100 years old. Organic and biodynamic principles are practiced." Harry Karis, The Chateauneuf du Pape Wine Book
