Description:

2006 - Lost Highway Toscana:
"The Lost Highway Project was launched by Vine Street Imports, bringing winemakers in collaboration with artists to produce and present small lots of collectible wine. In this case, the Duesenberg on the label was created by mosaic artist Jonathan Mandell, and the wine grown and vinified by Felsina in their Farnetella vineyards. Mostly sangiovese (70 percent), the blend also includes syrah, cabernet sauvignon and merlot."

"It's powerful juice, as succulent as cherries fresh from the tree, so dark and spicy that you can smell the fruit skin in the tannin. The wine feels heady and unbound as it steers straight ahead through that tannin, compelling now for its youthful energy and suited to further aging." 94 points Wine & Spirits

"Bordeaux-like in its profile, in both flavor and body, with hints of cedar and cigar leading to black currant, cherry and sweet spice notes. Though firmly structured, this is balanced and remains elegant, with a lingering aftertaste of spice. Sangiovese, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best from 2013 through 2022. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 224 cases made." 92 points Wine Spectator

WINE:
"The rich complexity of this wine come from the assemblage: a blend of mostly sangiovese, plus cabernet sauvignon, provides the wine's framework, the backbone, while merlot contributes smoothness and roundness, and syrah adds a spicy note. The varieties are sourced from vineyards in the microzone of Farnetella at 480-520 metres altitude. They are vinified separately; only after maturation is the final blend assembled. Thus, while Felsina shows that its genius is best expressed by monovarietal wines, at Farnetella the same variety, sangiovese, is the principal actor and unifying element in the creation of each vintage's unique blend." -Lost Highway

2007 - I Giusti & Zanza Dulcamara:
"This gorgeous blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot offers beautiful intensity and impressive complexity. Aromas here include black cherry, exotic spice, leather, fine tobacco and loads of plush, ripe fruit. It's a smooth velvety wine but the tannic backbone gives it lift and staying power." 94 points Wine Enthusiast

WINE:
"Deeply intense purple color. Nose of a classic Cabernet with cherries and currant. Big wine with lots of up front tannins, fruit is soft and subtle. It shows wonderful development potential for long term aging." -Winery

WINERY:
"In 1995 we started to restore an old Estate called 'Scopicci' situated in the north of Tuscany. In the first time we renewed the vineyards under the supervision of our oenologist and agronomist Dr. Stefano Chioccioli."

"To obtain a great quality of the grapes the new vineyards are designed to perform a low production, our target is to produce less than 1 kilogram of grapes per plant. The total Estate extension is of 35 hectares circa and in this moment we led 15 hectares of red grapes vineyard." -Winery
