Description:

2010 Pazo Senorans Albarino:
"The 2010 Albarino was aged in small stainless steel vats sur lie with batonnage for 4 months. Jasmine, mineral, lemon zest, and other citrus notes inform the nose of this multi-dimensional, already complex white. On the palate tropical flavors emerge adding to the wine's pleasure quotient. Drink this superb effort over the next 3-4 years." 93 Points - Jay Miller - Wine Advocate

WINE:
"Pale yellow in colour with greenish reflections. Medium-high intensity on the nose. Predominant primary aromas and Golden Delicious apple highlights backed up with plenty of citric notes. Immaculate palate from start to finish: firm, well-tooled, flamboyant and well-structured, with a full and clean finish." -Winemaker

VINEAYRDS:
"In the subregion of Val do Salnes. As is typical in Rias Baixas, vineyards are very small, family owned plots. About one third of the wine is sourced from estate vineyards while the remaining comes from almost 200 growers - all of which have worked with the estate for 20 years and take tremendous pride in their grapes (plus they are paid according to the quality of the grapes)."

"Growers bring sample bunches to the winery to be analyzed and winemaker Ana Quintela Suarez dictates when to harvest. Grapes are harvested in small cases and almost always by women." -Importer

2007 MARIMAR LA MASIA CHARDONNAY:
"There's a flowery note to this Chardonnay, which is dry, crisply acidic and strong in flavor in its youth. Brims with pineapple tart filling, Key lime pie, orange zest, honeysuckle, daffodil and smoky, vanilla-oak flavors, with a creamy, yeasty richness. Would benefit from greater restraint and subtlety, which may come after 3–5 years in the bottle. If you drink it now, give it a good decanting." 90 Points - Wine Enthusiast

VINEYARD:
"Named after the late patriarch of the Torres family, this organic vineyard is located in the Green Valley — the coolest, foggiest region of the Russian River, only ten miles from the Pacific. The European-style high density of over 2,000 vines per acre provides low yields and requires intensive labor; but the vines live longer and the grapes acquire greater concentration and finesse, more elegant aromas, and better balance than with the traditional low density." -Winemaker

VINIFICATION:
"The grapes were harvested September 9-20, then gently whole-cluster pressed and barrel fermented in premium French oak. The barrels were 45% new oak from the forest of Allier, coopered by Rousseau, Damy, and Dargaud & Jaegle. After undergoing 100% malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged on its lees for nine months and bottled in June 2008." -Winery
