89 Pts Antonio Galloni - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"Lanari's 2007 Rosso Conero is a bold, extroverted wine loaded with super-ripe dark cherries, flowers, minerals and spices. The opulent, intense fruit carries through to the long, rich finish. Ideally the wine is best opened a few minutes in advance to allow for the bouquet to find its center. Readers looking for a full-bodied, juicy red will find a lot to admire here. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2013." -89 points - Antonio Galloni - Wine Advocate

WINE:
"In the pleasant Varano hills around the year 1000, the specialist wine skills of a Grand Prior resulted in Rosso Conero. The expert mix of Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes give it a robust, dry and full-bodied flavour. Wine-making technique: traditional with a long maceration period. Grape blend: 90% Montepulciano and 10% Sangiovese. Harvesting technique: by hand in small cases. Bottling procedure: after 5-6 months' refinement in oak barrels. Available for purchase: one year after the harvest." -Importer

WINERY:
"Lanari wine cellar is in Varano, on a promontory in the Monte Conero Nature Reserve. It stands on the hills that overlook the Adriatic Sea, the typical zone for Rosso Conero wine production. This particular geographical position, the enthusiasm and experience of the owners and the precious collaboration of the oenologist, Giancarlo Soverchia, have led Rosso Conero wines produced on the Lanari estate winning numerous awards and have ensured they are included in all the best Italian and overseas guides."

"The Lanari estate was founded about thirty years ago, thanks to the passion of Leardo Lanari. Since then one of his children Luca, and his wife Paola, have expanded the farm and have set themselves the objective of continuing to produce top-quality red wine using artisan production techniques. Along with the dedication of the owners, these provide the key to the success of the Lanari wine cellar."

"The Lanari wine cellar has set itself the priority of carrying out artisan production from as early as the harvesting phase. It has various landscapes covered by vines and only grapes that have fully ripened are picked. After harvesting, they are then further selected at the sorting bench. This meticulous process continues during the ageing phase too." -Importer
