Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

91 Pts Jay Miller - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The dark ruby-colored 2006 Grenache was sourced from 80-year-old vines and aged in French barriques, 10% new. It exhibits an alluring perfume of smoke, spice box, lavender, mineral, and cherry. This is followed by a full-bodied, full-flavored, silky Grenache with layers of savory fruit, superb balance, and a fruit-filled finish. Drink this pleasure-driven wine from 2010 to 2018." -91 points- Jay Miller- Wine Advocate

"Rich and ripe with an abundance of sweet red fruits, and a slight garrigue note at the edge; long and sweet, with a toasty finish. Cork." -91 points- James Halliday- Australian Wine Companion

WINE:
"A brooding nose, with a bright red berry note, a punnet of fresh raspberries tossed in balsamic and a little dung. The white pepper spice of Grenache intertwined with the cedar notes. There is a sweetness of smokey char, smouldering chestnut litter in Autumn. A soft rounded palate, flavours of boiled beetroot and a swill of 'black and tan'. This wine is so subtle but completely engaging. Watch it explode with a little time. I love it." -Justin McNamee, Winemaker

WINERY:
"At Samuel's Gorge I am looking to collate the tools and experience that I have gathered over the years to craft wines with focus, specialising in three key varietals that I think excel in McLaren Vale; Grenache, Shiraz and Tempranillo."

"The barn from which I work was built in 1853 and is positioned on a ridge top that runs east/west on the southern lip of the Onkaparinga River National Park. Dramatic Australian wilderness greets me every morning on the way to the barn." -Justin McNamee Winemaker
