Description:
2007 Amavi Cabernet Sauvignon:
"Amavi's Cabernet constitutes almost three quarters of the winery's total production, and it's a gem. The aromas of fresh bread dough waft over dark plum and berry fruit. Baking spices, dark chocolate, and a streak of coffee runs through it. A lush mix of Walla Walla fruit styles, but the wine leans to the darker, smoky side of Cabernet. Cellar worthy." -91 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Smooth in texture, with game, tobacco and loamy earth character surrounding a gentle core of cherry and spice flavors, remaining harmonious through the lingering finish. Drink now through 2017. -90 points - Wine Spectator
This wine was also scored 88 points by the Wine Advocate.
2006 CHATEAU SANSONNET:
"Chateau Sansonnet is located at the east of Saint Emilion, on the highest point of the plateau, neighbouring great classified wines. Rich of history, the property belonged in the 19th century to the Duke Decazes, Prime Minister of Louis XVIII. The d'Aulan family took it over in 1999. The exceptional terroir is composed of an argilo-limestone soil, on a rocky subsoil. Merlot and Cabernet Franc complement each other beautifully to give elegant, attractive and classy wines. The 7 hectares vineyard and the wine cellars have been restored. Forgotten for a moment, Sansonnet takes again today its legitimate place among the high-class wines of Saint-Emilion." -Importer
This wine scored 87 points in the Wine Spectator, 86 points in the International Wine Cellar, and 84 points by Robert Parker.
2005 CHATEAU LE VIN MATIN:
"Around the vineyard our favorite time is always first thing in the morning, when a light dew ensconces the vines and the sun slowly emerges overhead. On these cool crisp mornings as we tend to the land, wine making is truly a labor of love. From the exceptional 2005 vintage, we offer Le Vin Matin, the wine of the morning, a silky smooth and fruit forward wine that reminds us of the peaceful mornings we adore. 73% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc." -Winery
BORDEAUX AOC:
"Bordeaux AOC wines are supple, fruity, and not too robust. Depending on the blend, they offer delicious aromas of red berries (raspberry), blackcurrant or violet. Thanks to their fruitiness, these wines may be consumed young. Bordeaux AOC wines can be produced on the entire wine-producing area of the Gironde and obey strict quality norms set by the I.N.A.O. (Institut National des Appellations d'Origine). Accordingly, the maximum authorized yield is 55 hL/ha, and the alcohol level (in % of volume) must be between 10 and 13%."
"The Bordeaux and Bordeaux-Superieur Appellations terroir is regional. The red wines from these AOC's are made from grapes harvested all over Bordeaux from authorized grape varieties grown in all of the major soil types, using the region's traditional methods."
"Consequently, these wines are a perfect example of the Bordeaux spirit. The Bordeaux and Bordeaux Superieurs embody the much-appreciated Bordeaux style of harmonious elegance, power, balance and aromatic complexity." -Bordeaux.com
