91 Pts Josh Raynolds - Vinous Media |
"Saturated red. Intensely perfumed bouquet offers scents of black raspberry, cassis, licorice and potpourri. Silky dark berry flavors displays liqueur-like depth and are enlivened by juicy acidity. A smoky quality gains strength with air and carries into the finish, which is spicy, focused and very long. Very interesting wine that shows its carmenere component up front but closes with cabernet character." - 91 Points - Josh Raynolds - International Wine Cellar |
Description:
VINEYARD:
"The Apalta Vineyards from part of the Colchagua Valley, famous for it's transversal hills and for being one of the famous wine regions of Chile. It is situated 170 km. south of Santiago and has an annual rainfall of 600 mm. This important mountain range makes this place ideal to produce unique red varieties which are noted for their special flavor and texture. The region has a temperate Mediteranean climate and sandy clay soils. This terroir allows the grapes top reach their optimum point of maturity, which results in highly concentrated wines with the desired characteristics, especially the Carmenere, Syrah and Cabernet varieties." -Winemaker
ESTATE:
"Veranda provides a new concept based on innovation and high standards of quality. Through the cultivation of ultra premium grapes grown in single vineyards with a reduced portfolio and limited production, Veranda is strongly convinced about creating authentic wines, expressing their true origin. This range of wines is the perfect combination between aromas and fruity flavors. Each one of our varieties has been stored for months in French oak barrels, turning into exquisite wines which have acquired the character of the terroir where they have been produced." -Winery
