Description:
2003 ANDREW GEOFFREY CABERNET SAUVIGNON:
"From their 13-acre vineyard high on Diamond Mountain, the 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits jammy black currant and cherry fruit intermixed with cedar, spice box, and a whiff of toasty oak. Medium to full-bodied with excellent fruit, a supple texture, and an attractive, long finish, it can be drunk now and over the next decade." -91 points Robert Parker
This wine also scored 88 points by Stephen Tanzer.
2006 PATRICK LESEC BARGETON CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE:
"The deep plum/ruby-tinged 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Bargeton (80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, and 10% Mourvedre) was aged in 1- to 3-year-old small barrels. The most structured, dense, and tannic of these Chateauneufs, it begs for 2-4 years of bottle age. Aromas of charcoal, roasted meats, grilled Provencal herbs, black currants, and cherries are followed by a deep, chewy, thick, well-structured, muscular wine. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2030." -91 Points Robert Parker
"Dark red. Pungent raspberry and dried floral aromas, with a suave spice character building with air. Deep, sweet and round, with fleshy red berry flavors and impressive finishing grip. Seriously structured but with no hardness or edges."
-91-93 points- Josh Raynolds- International Wine Cellar
2006 HDV CHARDONNAY:
"Tight and focused, delivering a beam of lime, citrus and green apple fruit that's crisp and lively, gaining depth and a minerally nuance on the long finish. Drink now through 2012. 1,562 cases made." -93 points Wine Spectator
"Showing all of the richness and layered complexity that we have come to expect from HDV, this head-turning offering is at once fairly powerful but comes with an uncommon sense of finesse. It smells of well-ripened apples, sweet toast and wisps of roasted grains, and its deep, full-scaled flavors unfold with elements of minerals and spice lifting it above simple fruitiness. Full-bodied and slightly fleshy in feel with optimal acids affording it very fine balance, it is a serious Chardonnay that will take to aging, but it is wholly fascinating now." -93 Points Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine
2005 SARAH'S VINEYARD BESSON SYRAH:
"Sweet tannin and plenty of spice as well as a distinct damp earth/forest floor note intermixed with flowers, black currants, and cherries all make for a complex aromatic and flavor profile in this wine from the Santa Clara Valley. Sweet tannin in the finish and broad, savory flavors only add to the appeal of this wine, which can be drunk now or cellared for 5-6 years." -90 points Robert Parker
