91 Pts Stephen Tanzer - Vinous Media

''Saturated, deep ruby. Deep, brooding aromas of cassis, licorice, tobacco and dark chocolate turned fresher and sweeter with air. Dense, sweet and rich, with excellent depth to the flavors of black fruits, mocha, cigar box, minerals and menthol. This big, lush, nicely delineated wine finishes with substantial dusty tannins and plenty of energy. Impressive." -91 points- Stephen Tanzer- International Wine Cellar - (Jan/Feb 08)

"Nothing is hidden in this bruising, forward Cab. The nose is oaky as can be, but also endowed with intense black fruit. The palate might register as soft to some, but there’s still a tannic foundation that bolsters blackberry, spice cake and molasses flavors. Not super long on the finish but intense in a lumbering sort of way. Drink now–2011." -90 points Wine Enthusiast (April 07)

WINE:
"Bodegas Nieto Senetiner is located at the heart of Lujon de Cuyo, on Vistalba Valley, at 900 meters above the sea level Historically known as the 'Primera Zona', Lujon de Cuyo, in Mendoza Province, stands out because it possesses excellent conditions for optimal growth of high quality grapes. We are aware of how valuable our vineyards are. Their strategic location allows us to meet the supply needs to produce our wine. The special characteristics of the soil and the weather throughout the 300 hectare field in Lujon de Cuyo, together with our expertise in producing excellent wine, make every type of grape find the maximum expression of the varietal." -Winery

This wine scored 89 points by the Wine Spectator.

Looking for a great cheese pairing for this wine?
This forward wine will need a muscular cheese to pair with it! Grab a Gourmet Library favorite: the washed-rind, french cheese: the Gres Des Vosges. It is just as robust and forward as the Nieto. While Gres Des Vosges is pungent and rustic, it has a fruitiness to it which will make it a great pairing for the this Argentine Cabernet.
