Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

Best Price on Web is determined by Wine-Searcher prices as of yesterday: Wine Library sells this for our sale price of $93.45. There are 16 other stores that sell this from $109 to $169.99. Please note, we are not taking virtual inventory into account.

Free shipping on orders of 2 bottles or more!
Please Note it may take 24-48 hours for your order to be put together for store pickup. You'll get an email when it's ready for pick up.

94 Pts Wine Spectator

"A juicy, almost gutsy style, with a mix of raspberry coulis, plum paste and fig sauce notes, pushed from behind by lively briar and anise accents. The rich finish shows an ample wood component, presenting a singed juniper edge that adds range and texture. Drink now through 2022. 1,000 cases made. -JM" (11/14)

93 Pts Jeb Dunnuck - The Rhone Report

"Bottled in February of this year, the 2011 Saint Joseph Vignes des Hospices is one sexy, seamless and silky Syrah that readers shouldn’t miss. Perfumed and complex, with a sweet bouquet of cassis, licorice, spice-box and pepper, it has a medium to full-bodied, forward style that’s perfect for drinking over the coming decade or more.

The father/son team of Marcel and Philippe Guigal continue to keep their estate at the top of the hierarchy in the Rhone Valley. All the way from their inexpensive Cotes du Rhone to their top-end Cote Roties and Hermtiage, the attention to detail and focus on quality is unmatched. Readers should also check out the recent Rhone Retrospective article I wrote that covered the Saint Joseph Vignes des Hospices, Cote Rotie Brune et Blonde, Cote Rotie Chateau d'Ampuis and Cote Rotie La Mouline cuvees going back for over a decade. I said it there, and I'll say it again here, this estate is producing some of the most incredible and singular wines in the world." (12/14)

Description:

Wine:
"This wine originates from two steeply terraced vineyards which Guigal now owns or controls through the purchase of the De Vallouit and Grippat domaines. "Vignes de L'Hospice" is a tiny, steep vineyard perched high above the town of Tournon in perhaps the best part of the St. Joseph appellation. It is owned by the local Hospice, and the vines are leased to Guigal on a long-term basis. To this cuvee is added part of the production of the vineyard "Les Anges" (the Angels), which previously had belonged to the de Vallouit domaine." - Importer

Estate:
"The firm of E. Guigal, located in Ampuis, was founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal. Since 1961 his son Marcel has led the estate, and his unparalleled work ethic and dedication to quality have brought attention to Cote-Rotie and other appellations throughout the Rhone that were in danger of being lost, and lifted the Guigal wines to the pinnacle of the wine world. Today, Marcel’s son Philippe serves as Director and Oenologist, continuing the tradition of leadership in the Rhone Valley and uncompromising excellence." - Importer

Vineyard:
"This vineyard is located above the Hospices, rising nearly to the top of the extraordinarily steep slope above the town. Together with the Lieu Dit Le St. Joseph, these are arguably the finest vineyards in the AC." - Importer
