"I found earthier notes and a darker aromas in the 2020 Dominio de Anza Selección de Parcelas, a common thing in the 2020s, perhaps a little reductive. In 2020, part of the wine comes from a new plot on slate soils in the village of San Lorenzo, and perhaps it has some notes reminiscent of a Barolo. The profile of the wine has changed: it's not as aromatic as the 2019, and it has a different texture with more noticeable tannins. This 15% of the wine from a different zone and soil has changed it. It might require more time. 8,900 bottles produced. Drink Date: 2023 - 2029"

Selección de Parcelas is hand-harvested from extremely old vines (80-100 years old) in some of the most prestigious parcels in Bierzo. Only 375 cases of this stunning wine were produced and we just had to take as much as we could!

This wine is absolutely stunning and is a remarkable value. An abundance of dark fruit is accented by hints of spice leading to a pleasantly earthy finish. Our entire wine team fell in love with this wine and we can see why Dominio de Anza and Diego Magaña are getting so much praise from the world's leading wine critics.
