"There's a structure that often comes with Santa Cruz Mountain wines that just won't quit. This bottling begins with aromas of oregano, pepper, mahogany, iron and dried cherry on the nose, followed by smoked oak, cured meat and dark cranberry on the palate. But it's the tannic core that ensures a long, savory life. Drink now through 2035. -MK"
"Great wines need ideal conditions. Santa Cruz Mountains wines benefit from perfectly poor soil, just the right amount of sunlight, and above all, a great view. Our goal here at Black Ridge is to produce wines that best express our exceptional vineyard. Plantings consist of multiple clones for most of the varietals, many of which are harvested, sorted, and fermented separately. The diversity of soil type and characteristics of each clone allow us to be selective when creating the ideal blend. We plan on remaining small since we value our wine being made with 100% estate grown fruit."
