The 2017 Pinot Noir Absolutely Eloise Sun Chase Vineyard comes all from a site in Sonoma County and was fermented with 10% stems followed by 16 months in 70% new French oak. It offers a ripe, sexy profile that carries loads of black cherries, baking spices, applewood, and crushed flower. It's ripe, opulent, and flamboyant, yet like everything from Boswell, stays balanced, pure, and beautifully seamless on the palate. It's a thrilling effort from this team to drink over the coming 7-8 years, although I wouldn't be surprised to see it keep longer.
We have sought to capture Californiaâs purest representation of terroir from Napa Valleyâs storied Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard to Northern Santa Barbaraâs spectacular Ritaâs Crown, Radian and Bentrock Vineyards, Sonoma Coast's Sun Chase Vineyard, and then soaring to the glorious Russian River Valley for our Ritchie, Rued, and Dutton Sebastopol Vineyard designated Chardonnays."
