90 Pts Wine Spectator

"Creamy and well-knit, with chewy tannins wrapped in fleshy flavors of damson plum preserves, baked black currant and eucalyptus, showing hints of ground anise and dried orange peel. A harmonious red that should open up with some air or short-term aging. Nero d'Avola, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best from 2017 through 2024. 1,833 cases made. -AN"

Description:

"Ceuso is the wine that bears the company name and the name of the area where the vineyards stand.

In the local dialect ceuso means mulberry, the plant introduced by the Arabs over a thousand years ago whose leaves are fed to silkworms. Ceuso is the child of the Sicilian indigenous varietal par excellence Nero d'Avola together with two extraordinary international varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Ceuso is a truly accomplished great red, complex and elegant, aged in French oak barriques for twelve months and then bottle refined an addiotional twelve months. Ceuso is a fine wine embodying all the characteristics that make it eminently suitable for long-term ageing." - Winery
