"McLaren Vale has long shown its affinity with cabernet, coming up with varietally expressive wines more easily than the Barossa or Clare Valleys (beware of generalisations); this is a good example with blackcurrant fruit and a gently earthy/herbal twist on the finish linked to the varietal tannin profile. It is from nine vineyards, matured in 50/50% French and American oak (25% new, the remainder used hogsheads)."

"This wine over-delivers on true Cabernet Sauvignon varietal characteristics. The nose shows a lovely herbaceousness with hints of paprika and cassis.
