Moderately dense and sweet, with very good intensity to the bright flavors of dark berries, coffee and flowers. Still a bit tight today, with coffee and pepper elements carrying through to the firm finish. This strikes me as being much better than some recent vintages of this wine: though the merlot presence is still significant, it's much more successfully integrated with the sangiovese here."
