"The 2011 is sensational. Rich, with loads of honeysuckle, orange marmalade and caramelized grapefruit in a medium to full-bodied, gorgeously pure, rich style, it should drink nicely for up to a decade.

Scott Palazzo has a fascinating background, traveling the world, picking fruit in Bordeaux in the late 1970s and early 1980s, becoming highly involved in the music business producing videos that earned him several Grammy nominations. Yet he gave it all up for the lifestyle and challenge of producing world-class wine in Napa Valley. He produces three cuvées of wine, all well-known among wine insiders, but probably not getting the notice among consumers that they merit.

There are usually about 400-500 cases of Palazzo's Cuvée Blanc, which comes from seven acres of 60- to 65-year-old Semillon in Napa. "

"The PALAZZO 2011 Cuveé Blanc is a 'beautiful & elegantly crafted' food wine ... made predominately from the wonderfully exotic & aromatic Semillon grape, with just a touch of Sauvignon Blanc blended in for 'finesse & structure'.

The nose is once more wonderfully 'floral & seductive' with intense aromas of pear & orange blossoms, rose petals, and hints of spearmint, beeswax & white truffle laced throughout. On the palate there is a rich, broad oily texture & weight, along with bright, zesty acidity, giving the wine a 'beautifully balance mouth-feel'! Delicious white peach, nectarine & apricot fruit flavors fill your mouth, with notes of Meyer lemon zest & a slight, pleasant bitterness of walnut skin adding complexity.
