91 Pts James Suckling - Jamessuckling.com

"A fresh, beautiful white with sliced pear, hints of flint and apple character. Full-bodied. A beautiful white from Maremma in Tuscany. No wood. Bright. This is sauvignon blanc, gewurztraminer, semillon and petit manseng. Drink now." Reviewed 10/20/2014

91 Pts Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The 2013 Poggio Argentato is a delicious blend of Traminer and Sauvignon Blanc that really delivers the goods. You get intensity and purity first and foremost, followed by budding complexity and great persistency. Tropical fruit, white peach, candied lemon peel, white almond and delicate herbal notes spring to attention. The mouthfeel shows a great degree of creaminess and richness, but it remains crisp and zesty nonetheless. This is a delicious treat. " Reviewed September, 2015

90 Pts Ian Dagata - Vinous Media

"Bright straw. Aromas and flavors of superripe, resiny mango, spicy guava and white stone fruits are nicely lifted by bright, harmonious acidity. The finish is vibrant and long. The petit manseng was planted in 2002 so that it could provide acidity for this blend; it was included for the first time in 2006. This is really very good. Drinking Window: 2015 - 2017" Reviewed December, 2014

Description:

About Poggio Argentato IGT Toscana Bianco
This wine takes its name from the exposure of the vineyards, which face the Argentario promontory. Once an island in the past, it is now connected to the Tuscan coast and forms a rocky, but scenic peninsula that serves as a symbol of the Maremma. Made from a blend of Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, and Petit Manseng, this mineral driven white is a perfect expression of the sea and the sandstone that makes up the terroir there.

Winery Tasting Notes
Straw yellow in color, this crisp white has an alluringly aromatic profile with aromas of ripe grapefruits, oranges, and rosewater. The palate shows more citrus with a hint of spice and ripe fig followed by a refreshingly crisp acidity. Serve this with a coastal Italian favorite - spaghetti allo scoglio which is pasta with crustaceans.
