Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

93 Pts Wine & Spirits

"This selection of grapes from old vines is presented as the least sweet and the lightest of Baumard's late-harvest wines. It’s clean and dynamic, a heady, layered Chenin with scents of jasmine, orange and apple butter. The juiciness comes up against soil-inflected acidity, a fine, sandy grit to ameliorate the sweetness. Pour it with a savory almond torte." Reviewed 04/14

92 Pts Wine Enthusiast

"The acidity is almost shocking, cutting through the richness of the wine. Its sweet apple and lemon flavors balance the honey and maple syrup notes. The wine is still young, demanding aging over a decade at least. beautifully ripe. Screwcap." Reviewed 10/1/2013

91 Pts Wine Spectator

"This has a pretty floral lift, with orange blossom and honeysuckle notes leading the way for yellow apple, creamed peach and dried pineapple details. The juicy edge is well-buried on the unctuous finish. Drink now through 2019. 80 cases imported." Reviewed Nov 30, 2014

90+ Pts Cellar Tracker

"Based on 8 notes and 7 scores from 8 users on Cellartracker as of 2/17/16. Average score 90.7 points. Median score 91 points."

Description:

"The sweet wines of Domaine des Baumard are from vineyards planted along the Layon river, which flows northwest into the Loire. The perfectly exposed vineyards in the appellation Coteaux du Layon allow the Chenin Blanc grape to ripen perfectly, often enriched by the development of botryitis. For the production of sweet wine, Florent Baumard prefers to harvest as late as the vintage weather permits, hoping for plenty of botryitis. The grapes are harvested in successive passes or ‘tries’ through the vineyard, and any unsatisfactory fruit is eliminated. The grapes are pressed quickly and the must fermented under temperature control. Aging is done strictly without oak to preserve the elements of fruit and terroir. Baumard normally bottles several cuvées of sweet wine. Coteaux du Layon 'Carte D'Or' is moderately sweet and deliciously young." Winery Notes
