This is a voluminous wine--from front to back. The lofty fruit aromas carry a certain weight, hinting at what is to come. In the mouth the Chenin Blanc displays a delightful viscosity that glazes the taste buds. The rush of fruit slowly recedes to exhibit a hint of oak structure and a refreshingly persistent acidity, which is tempered ever-so-slightly by a miniscule dash of residual sweetness.Tasting Notes

Winemaker Notes
The grapes were harvested and held on the skins for a period of 12 hours in order to maximize phenolic extraction. They were then pressed and the juice fermented in stainless steel tank, at a cold temperature. After fermentation, the wine was stored in contact with the fermentation lees for a period of 6 months, with frequent stirring to introduce oxygen and bring the lees into suspension. A small portion of the wine was aged in once-used French oak, while the majority saw only stainless steel. It did not undergo Malolactic fermentation. Final Blend: 82% Chenin Blanc, 9% Semillon, 9% Chardonnay. Production:238 Cases

Blue Plate Chenin got an older brother this year, and his name is spelled with an odd non-letter that you might have trouble with upon first glance. Officially spelled "dîner" (pronounced: dee-nay), this word means "to dine" in French. Straightforward enough, no? A healthy dose of hoity-toity, with a nice little tongue-in-cheek play on the American diner concept that we've pursued via Blue Plate.
The wine, you'll be relieved to know, should offer less confusion. Or if you're confused, it'll likely be a delighted confusion. Our d^ner Chenin Blanc is a truly gorgeous wine, in the style of so many Chenin Blancs from Vouvray that consumers have come to enjoy. We hope you'll love it as much as we do.
