Description:
"Our Estate fruit for this bottling came from Gerber Vineyard,
our original planting, Maple Ranch and our newest
planting at Cedar Ranch. Winemaking is straightforward.
Whole cluster pressing, fermentation is stainless steel with
a selection of aromatic yeasts, and sur lie aging (left on the
yeast lees) for five to six months. Our winemaking goal is
to highlight the unique alpine nature of the vineyards and
translate that into a lively, mouth-watering glass of wine.
An unusually warm September had a unique influence on
the style of our 2012 wines. While we prefer producing
wines that are restrained, perhaps even subtle, this vintage
comes across as a little more plump and juicy than most.
Purity of fruit defines our Pinot Blanc. Granny Smith apple,
fresh figs and almond paste highlight the aromas, while
picking up a graham cracker note from the yeast contact.
There may be a little less minerality than we usually find in
our Pinot Blanc, yet there seems to be more spice and highnote
fruit, and a fuller body." -Winery
