"Ramblis is a kind of soil created by the water streams, a kind of alluvial cake with very small stones which is why there are a few wines with similar names. The 2012 Ramblis Monastrell is pure Monastrell showing a mixture of ripe and fresh notes with something jammy, but the red fruit also has complexity and depth. The palate is medium-bodied and has earthy flavors intermixed with the notes found in the nose plus very good acidity.While the tannins are unnoticeable they make it very pleasant and easy to drink. "Rafael Bernabe has a huge portfolio with the more mainstream wines labelled Bernabe Navarro and the more alternative ones Vinedos Culturales; but it's all the same winery/company. There are up to four whites produced with Moscatel and Merseguera grapes from old vines in the Parque Natural de la Mata, one sparkling and one amphora wine. These tend to be the most organic/radical of the collection, where the imprint from the natural process seems to be stronger than grape or place, and tends to mark the wines with a common theme although they are all different. I believe whites take better to the oxidative-natural process and the reds are much cleaner, with a notable absence of the annoying notes of cider and beer that I find in so many wines like those; here they come through clean and fresh.
