The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. More Ratings:

95 Pts James Halliday - Australian Wine Companion

"Bright purple-crimson; the bouquet is flush with fragrant spicy red berry fruits, the medium-bodied palate with fine-grained tannins running through its length, providing flavour as well as textural complexity."

92 Pts Josh Raynolds - Vinous Media

"Glass-staining ruby. Displays heady aromas of candied dark berries, fruitcake, smoky minerals and violet, with spice and mineral nuances adding complexity. Stains the palate with intense blackberry and blueberry flavors that are braced and lifted by juicy acidity. Sweet, expansive and lively on the finish, which lingers with excellent clarity and fine-grained tannins that melt into the fruit."

91 Pts Wine Spectator

"Supple, expressive and appealing, showing a deft balance, playing red fruit, cinnamon and wet earth notes against refined tannins and an open texture. Beguiling stuff. Drink now through 2022. 178 cases made. -HS"

Description:

The Winery
The Pyrenees region of Victoria is renowned for producing elegant cool climate red wines of great finesse and it is Pyren Vineyard's endeavor to mirror this reputation from its 70 acre vineyard situated in the heart of the region.

Established in 1999 by Brian & Kevyn Joy in the picturesque Warrenmang Valley of the cool climate pocket of the Pyrenees region west of Melbourne. The property consistently produced low yielding fruit of exceptional quality. The property is presently operated by Brian's son Leighton and viticultural guru and sheep grazier Graeme Miles. The development of an on-site winery in 2009 has provided Pyren with even greater direction and has allowed for further improvements with complete control from vine to bottle. The most exciting challenge at Pyren is the strive for constant learning and the commitment to push limitations. Perpetual room for improvement and a desire to produce the most talked about wines in the Pyrenees, is the long term focus and goal.

Block E
"Block E sits adjacent Kev’s orchid, along the Eastern perimeter of Pyren Vineyard. Just 0.4Ha in size, this small plot of vineyard has consistently produced some of the most concentrated and intensely flavoured fruit on the property.

The resulting wine is typically a very deep purple/red in colour, shows generous fruit on the palate with welcoming tannin and warmth.

The label artwork for this wine is representative of the stark backdrop that is presented over the fence line from Block E." - Winery
