We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

More Ratings:

94 Pts James Halliday - Australian Wine Companion

"Intense purple-crimson; a come hither palate of satsuma plum, spice and licorice has the freshness more common in cool regions, the tannins fine and supple, oak balanced and integrated."

90 Pts Wine Spectator

"Tight and focused, with a spicy note prominent among the blueberry and dried apricot flavors, coming together harmoniously. Drink now through 2018. 500 cases imported. -HS" (08/13)

90 Pts Josh Raynolds - Vinous Media

"(a 95/5 blend): Bright purple. Fresh blackberry and cherry-cola aromas are complicated by suggestions of anise, pipe tobacco and woodsmoke. Plush and appealingly sweet, with supple dark fruit flavors and a quiet floral quality. Rich but surprisingly lively on the softly tannic finish, with its notes of sappy dark fruit and violet." (07/13)

Description:

Tasting Notes:
"Deep purple. Aromas of clove, spice and mulberry fruit with subtle hints of apricot from the small addition of Viognier greet you in the glass, without being too overpowering. The palate is luscious & juicy with an abundance of rich sweet fruit and dark chocolate characters, supported by the smooth tannin structure." - Importer

Winery:
"Willunga 100 is a project founded in 2004 by industry experts David Gleave MW (Liberty Wines - UK), Michael Hill-Smith MW (Australia's first MW), and John Ratcliffe (driving force behind the Oddbins retail brand). These three got together to taste the Australian wines available in the UK and agreed there was a lack of character and a quality void between the mainstream inexpensive brands and the iconic premium wines of Australia.

The '100' in Willunga 100 refers to an administrative unit of government, meaning that 100+ people had to live in the area to qualify for its place on the map. Just as the McLaren Vale district was divided up into "100's", or small lots, so fruit is selected from small parcels. Much of the best fruit comes from the area that once was the Hundred of Willunga.

From 2005 to 2009, Stephen Pannell, recognized as one of Australia's most dynamic winemakers, was chief winemaker. He was succeeded by Tim James in 2010, one of Australia's most renowned winemakers, bringing 30 years of winemaking experience from wineries such as Wirra Wirra, Dawson & James, and Hardy's.

The majority of the Shiraz hails from 'Mary's Vineyard', a 20 acre site in the Sellick's Hill area of the Willunga foothills in 1999. Parcels of Shiraz were harvested in March and fermented separately in open top fermenters with an addition of 5% Viognier skins co-fermented with the Shiraz to ensure integration, add complexity, freshness, aromatic lift and stabilize color. Warm fermentation temperatures combined with regular pumpovers and plunging ensures optimum extraction. The wine is matured in a mixture of new and older French Oak Hogs Heads and Puncheons for structure and complexity." - Importer
