"Made from Nebbiolo grapes, it takes its name from a small town in the Piedmont region. This wine has a typical red color with orange reflections, a characteristic bouquet and a dry full bodied violet taste, slightly tannic. Serve at room temperature with red meat, game and mature cheeses. The palate is elegant and textured, with notes of minty herbs, soft berries, hints of anise all around a tannic core and balanced by ripe acidity.
Originally from Calabria in the south of Italy, Franco Amoroso moved to Piemonte, to Nizza Monerrato and subsequently made Piemonte his home. When Franco married Caterina Sperone, whose family owned vineyards in Mombaruzzo, Franco made his passion for wine his career. After a long and distinguished career in the wholesale wine business, Franco realized his dream of establishing a family winery in Mombarazzo where today the vines that were originally planted in 1920 by Caterina Amoroso's family are still producing wines. Franco's traditions and meticulous standards for quality are currently managed by the fourth generation of Franco and Caterina's family, Andrea and Francesca Sperone from viticulture, to production and international sales." - Winery
