"The 2012 les Bourgeots was one of the few 2012 reds that had already been bottled, as its mise was a bit more than two weeks prior to my visit. The wine showed quite well, offering up a pure and minerally bouquet of red and black cherries, red currants, stony soil tones, woodsmoke, spices and a touch of currant leaf in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full- bodied, focused and beautifully structured, with a rock solid core, ripe tannins and a long, tangy and properly reserved finish. Fine juice in the making. 2020-2045+." |

"Generally, the reds see very little new oak. Patrick treats his wines as delicately as possible and they clearly benefit from his careful attention. These are not the traditional, light and delicate Savignys of days past, but profound expressions that offer remarkable balance, concentration and are built to age. A moderately deep soil, with white clay-limestone composition, which leads to very perfumed wines, to be drunk relatively young." - Winery
