Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!
Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

"Violets and blackberries with hints of spices on the nose. Full body, with soft and velvety tannins and a juicy finish. Drink now or hold. Always excellent value." |
90 Pts Robert Parker - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate |
"This blend of 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and the rest Malbec is from the Thienpont family. (Puygueraud is the estate where this large clan was born.) The 2009 is impressive, but the estate somewhat under-the-radar, since it is hard to pronounce and not exactly a household name. This is a beautifully fleshy wine with loads of licorice, spring flowers, graphite and black fruits. Fleshier and more concentrated than usual, with a longer, more intense finish and plenty of glycerin, this dark ruby/purple wine is a knock-out and, in theory, an attractive great value. It should drink well for up to a decade." |
Description:
-"A knock-out" - Robert Parker
The wine offered below is a flat out amazing value made by the Thienpont family. Think owners of Vieux Chateau Certan and Le Pin, but also winemakers at Pavie Macquin, Larcis Ducasse, Beausejour Duffau Lagarosse.
3 of their wines had 100 points in 2009! Take a look:
2009:
- Vieux Chateau Certan 2009 - 100 JS / 99 Parker / 97 WS
- Le Pin 2009 - 100 Parker / 99 JS / 98 WS
- Beausejour Duffau Lagarosse 2009 - 100 Parker / 95 WS
- Larcis Ducasse 2009 - 96 Parker
- Pavie Macquin 2009 - 96 JS / 95 WS / 92+ RP (94-96+ en primeur)
- Chateau Puygueraud 2009 - 92 JS / 90 RP - Offered Today
The momentum of the 100 points has been passed along to the other brands, including Chateau Puygueraud offered below, which represents the value side of their offerings.
This is Nicolas Thienpontâs property. He owns it.
The property is located in the Cotes de Franc appelation, and is widely responsible for the increase of notoriety of this relatively unknown appelation. As Parker stated in the past "This Thienpont-owned vineyard was one of the first to make noise from what was a totally unknown appellation - Cotes de Francsâ
The property is 27 hectares planted with an average of 40 year old vines with the following cepages: 70% Merlot, 25% cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec. The property was completely replanted in the early 1970s. Nicolas Thienpont has been running this property and making wine there since 1983.
The soil is clay and limestone, with chalky subsoils. This is the kind of terroir that is doing very well in warmer years, because it is bringing full maturity to the grapes but is still keeping some great freshness and acididity to the wines. This explains why the Puygueraud 2009 was such a success.
The wine is the collaboration of Stephane Derenoncourt and Nicolas Thienpont - who also work together at Pavie Macquin, Larcis Ducasse - two properties whose quality was really turned around since the arrival of these two! (early 1990s for Pavie Macquin, 2003 for Larcis Ducasse).
This is an outright steal for the money! Enjoy it while it lasts!
