Fans of Italian wines are going to FLIP over this offer, boasting the kind of quality that has made their respective regions famous: Tuscany for red and Friuli for white!
Wine #1 hails from vineyards that have supported wine grapes for seven centuries: the 2008 Tenuta di Nozzole La Forra Chianti Classico Riserva. This single-vineyard cuvee is made in only the best vintages so when it hits, it usually hits big and with very limited distribution. Antonio Galloni has been raving about this winery's ability to produce wines with full bodied flavor while holding true to traditional elegance. On this release in particular, both Galloni and Suckling were decisive in their reviews: this wine is rock-solid.
Wine #2, the 2011 Ronchi Di Cialla Cialla Bianco, scored exciting press from Monica Larner of Robert Parkerâs Wine Advocate, who reveled in the wineâs âcomplexity and depthâ. The magic behind this cuvee is Ronchi di Ciallaâs commitment to indigenous varietals, making wines that are at once powerful and sublime. The 2011 Colli Orientali del Friuli is a blend of 60% Ribolla Gialla, 30% Picolit and 10% Verduzzo. The estate follows natural and organic winemaking practices with ambient yeasts. âThese are fascinating, inspiring wines."
This Classic Italian Two Pack represents a deal tailor-made for the Italian Wine Lover.
This 2 pack includes 1 bottle of 2008 Nozzole La Forra Chianti Classico Riserva and 1 bottle of 2011 Ronchi Di Cialla Cialla Bianco
2008 Nozzole La Forra Chianti Classico Riserva
"A balanced and fruity wine, with milk chocolate and dark fruits. Full and delicious. So right now. Drink it." - 90 Points James Suckling
"The 2008 Chianti Classico Riserva La Forra emerges from the glass with sweet red cherries, tobacco, crushed flowers, worn-in leather and spices. It is a bit more floral and reserved than the Nozzole, and also shows more Sangiovese character. This is a very strong effort for the vintage." - 90 Points Antonio Galloni - Vinous
2011 Ronchi Di Cialla Cialla Bianco
"The 2011 Colli Orientali del Friuli Sottozona Cialla Ciallabianco is a blend of 60% Ribolla Gialla, 30% Picolit and 10% Verduzzo. The winemaking philosophy is very specific in the case of this wine: Ciallabianco shines the spotlight on three important indigenous grapes that best represent this tiny territory that straddles Italy and Slovenia. The wine opens with a bight golden color and shows oxidized aromas of caramel, butterscotch, candied fruit and dried apricot. Naturally, this opulent style wonât appeal to everyone. If youâre a fan of the 'Orange school,' youâll appreciate the depth and complexity on display. It should only improve with time. Drink: 2015-2020." - 91 Points Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
