"Yohan is the son of Lucien Lardy and has his own bijou winery in Beaujolais that is well worth seeking out, in particular his delightful 2013 Fleurie La Vivier, which comes from his two hectares of 65-year-old vines, spending eight months in Burgundy barrels. It has a refined and delicate nose that unfurls nicely in the glass; black cherries at first, then boysenberry and wild strawberry. The palate is fresh and vibrant with slightly chewy tannins, but very well-judged acidity and good body toward the lively finish. This is a delicious Fleurie! Drink now-2018." (06/14)

"Fleurie is the most feminine of the Beaujolais Crus. Yohan LARDY is farming his old vines in a sustainable way and vinify this plot "La Vivier" separately the most naturally as possible in order to reflect the characteristics of his terroir. Meaty, savory, lovely smooth texture and very juicy on the palate." - Winery

"At only 27 years old Yohan Lardy has truly come to his own by returning to his Beaujolais after completing a BTS Viti-Oeno and spending a number of months working in Chile for an estate harvesting and winemaking. Without hesitation he purchased 2 ha and is now working organically a total of 6.5 hectares in Beaujolais, primarily in Moulin-a-Vent with small plots in Fleurie, Chenas and Beaujolais-Villages. His vineyards are striking - with lots of diversity, excellent south facing exposure and picturesque backgrounds. The vines are not trellised and quite old at 40-111 years old. His vines are carefully maintained and are surrounded by the beauty of poppy flowers. All work is manual including harvest with an average yield of 45hl/ha. As expected from his vineyard practices he allows for native yeast fermentation and adds no sulfites.

The Fleurie is from a .5 hectare plot called 'Le Vivier' with 40-70 year old vines. Sandy and blue granite soils with south facing vines. The wine experiences 18 days maceration resulting in an elegant, pretty wine, a truly excellent first vintage for this dynamic young vigneron." - Importer
