"A layered and rich red with a light prune, plum and berry character, as well as hints of walnuts. Full-bodied, chewy and tannic yet showing polish and refinement. An almost iodine undertone. Better in 2016."

"Talenti's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino sees fruit sourced from the Sant'Angelo in Colle subzone of the appellation. This is a very satisfactory expression with pretty mineral tones of ash and crushed stone that form sharp contours against ripe fruit, prune and blackberry. The wine is linear and extremely well defined. The high quality of fruit happily comes through with confidence and intensity. Talenti offers the best of both worlds: This is a wine that can age or you can opt to drink it sooner with red meat or game dishes. I love the energy and acidity on the finish.
Riccardo Talenti's 2010 Brunello di Montalcino is a standout wine. The winery is located in the Sant'Angelo in Colle sub-zone and counts 40 hectares of property, of which 21 are planted to vines."
"The year 2010 for Brunello di Montalcino is the greatest modern vintage of Italyâs most famous red wine region. Never have the wines been so profound in quality, character, and quantity from the best hillside vineyards of Montalcino. They represent a new paradigm for Tuscany's unique sangiovese-based red. I couldn't agree more. I tasted slightly more than 100 2010 Brunellos in a blind tasting in Tuscany a few months ago and I was amazed by the beauty, balance and intensity of the wines. They showed such energy and intensity yet were rich and deep on the palate. And most have a fascinating savory, almost salty character that makes them succulent and incredibly satisfying to taste. " - James Suckling
"Ruby red and intense colour with orange shimmers. A wide bouquet slightly spicy. His taste is full, soft, velvety and intense. The tannins are elegant and sweet." - Winery
"The Winery was established in 1980, when Pierluigi Talenti decided to buy the fascinating property and grounds with which he had fallen in love in the Fifties, when he had decided to leave the mountains of his native Romagna for the sweet and sunny hills of Montalcino.
Experience and thorough research on clones in the whole area of Montalcino, combined with a healthy respect for tradition, allowed the Winery to reach the high levels of quality in enjoys today. Since 1999 the Winery is direct from Talenti family, in the person of his grandson Riccardo Talenti, who, matching tradition to the continuous research of new technologies, continues the work with same dedication and passion of the past years.
Situated in the South area of Montalcino, not far from the small medieval borough of S. Angelo in Colle, stands Pian di Conte, a beautiful building of antique origins, which looks on the gentle valley of the river Orcia and is the seat of the Talenti winery. At present the Winery owns a total of 40 hectares, 20 of which are vineyard (Brunello, Rosso di Montalcino and I.G.T.), 4 hectares olive-grove and the rest orchard, forest and sown ground." - Winery
