Description:

This 3-pack includes 1 bottle of 2011 Ronchi Di Cialla Cialla Bianco, 1 bottle of 2009 Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin, and 1 bottle of 2010 Sordo Barolo Rocche Di Castiglione

2011 Ronchi Di Cialla Cialla Bianco
"The 2011 Colli Orientali del Friuli Sottozona Cialla Ciallabianco is a blend of 60% Ribolla Gialla, 30% Picolit and 10% Verduzzo. The winemaking philosophy is very specific in the case of this wine: Ciallabianco shines the spotlight on three important indigenous grapes that best represent this tiny territory that straddles Italy and Slovenia. The wine opens with a bight golden color and shows oxidized aromas of caramel, butterscotch, candied fruit and dried apricot. Naturally, this opulent style won’t appeal to everyone. If you’re a fan of the 'Orange school,' you’ll appreciate the depth and complexity on display. It should only improve with time. Drink: 2015-2020." - 91 Points Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

2009 Clerico Barolo Ciabot Mentin
"One notch down on the intensity ladder is the 2009 Barolo Ciabot Mentin. Less obvious and definitely more flirtatious, this gorgeous wine playfully dangles subtle hints of licorice, dark fruit, anisette and Middle Eastern spice in front of your nose. They morph and transform into something new and unexpected with each swirl of the glass. There's enough flesh here to keep the wine grounded, but there's also enough tonic freshness to keep it from feeling heavy. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2028." - 94+ Points Monica Larner - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"Medium red. Less roasted than the Briccotto, offering aromas and flavors of cherry, mocha, coffee and spices. Less fat and full in the mouth but shows more lift and energy. A bit youthfully clenched, but the wine's firm tannic spine and impressive length suggest it will be a beauty with a few years of aging. Despite being situated at high altitude, these are the first Barolo vines Clerico picks. The acidity here is a very healthy 6.3 grams per liter." - 93+ Points Stephen Tanzer - Vinous Media

"A beautiful ripeness of fruit here with dried strawberries and sliced mushroom aromas. Full body, with polished and round tannins and a cedar, mahogany and dried berry aftertaste. Needs at least two or three years of bottle age." - 93 Points James Suckling

"A fresh, vibrant red, with notes of eucalyptus, tea, cherry and leather notes are backed by dense, ripe tannins. Balanced on the firm side, with a coating of dusty tannins on the long finish. Give this some time. Best from 2017 through 2032. 1,500 cases made. -BS" - 92 Points Wine Spectator

2010 Sordo Barolo Rocche Di Castiglione
"It opens up to reveal layers of scents including tilled earth, underbrush, black berries, balsamic notes and baking spices. Juicy red cherry, black cherry, crushed raspberry, white pepper and cocoa flavors flow along the vibrant palate supported by a backbone of lively acidity and solid tannins. Drink after 2020. -KO" - 94 Points Wine Enthusiast
