What makes the Fossil Point Chardonnay special? We just love the tropical fruit and mineral flavors that define this style. Excellent acidity keeps everything moving in this impeccably balanced wine. We loved it from the first sip. So did Wine Enthusiast, who not only rated it 90 points, but also designated it as a "Best Buy." It is rare to find a Chardonnay with this much rich fruit that is not masked by a copious amount of oak.
"Fossil Point is named for the rugged headland in San Luis Obispo County which features sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and Central Coast. The winery's estate vineyard is located five miles inland in Edna Valley with its soil of ancient calcareous shale which was uplifted from the sea floor millennia ago.
A beautiful Chardonnay with this much rich fruit that is not masked by a copious amount of oak. Rich pear, green apple, and honey make this wine super satisfying, while the acidity quickly cleans up the finish with delicate citrus character" -Winery
