The Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation has really been on a roll for the past decade or so, and the 2012 vintage follows suit. In fact, many wine critics are declaring Chateauneuf-du-Pape the most successful appellation in France in 2012!

Not every CdP producer made great wine in 2012. But the superstar winemakers certainly did! The 2012 Clos Saint Jean Chateauneuf-du-Pape "Vieilles Vignes" (old vines) is one of the finest wines of the appellation, with Jeb Dunnuck of Robert Parker's Wine Advocate giving the wine 94 points and describing it as a "brilliant 2012." The domaine of Pierre Usseglio is now run by Pierre's sons, Jean-Pierre and Thierry. Their best CdPs regularly received ratings in the 95 - 100 range from Robert Parker and the 2012 offered here is in that league.

If you are looking for a great gift for any wine lover, and you love saving money (who doesn't?) our Chateauneuf-du-Pape Superstar Pack represents opportunity knocking -- loudly! We can assure you that any and every oenophile will be thrilled to receive this gift! And don't worry about shipping -- it's FREE!

This Chateauneuf du Pape Super Pack includes 1 bottle of 2012 Pierre Usseglio Chateauneuf Du Pape Rouge and 1 bottle of 2012 Clos St. Jean Chateauneuf Du Pape Vieilles Vignes

2012 Pierre Usseglio Chateauneuf Du Pape Rouge
"Bright and juicy, with a brambly frame around a core of energetic cherry and raspberry fruit. Tobacco, licorice root and singed alder notes hang in the background for now but should meld with the core over time. Solid. Best from 2015 through 2025. 3,000 cases made." 91 Points Wine Spectator

2012 Clos St. Jean Chateauneuf Du Pape Vieilles Vignes
"Similar to the base cuvée, yet with more of everything, the 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes offers smoking notes of kirsch, black cherry liqueur, ground herbs, licorice and big minerality. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, seamless, pure and exceedingly elegant, all while carrying superb mid-palate concentration, plenty of tannic grip and a blockbuster finish. Drink this brilliant 2012 over the coming decade or more." 94 Points Jeb Dunnuck - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
