You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

92 Pts Wine & Spirits

"Mt. Difficulty produces the Roaring Meg wines from purchased fruit; this comes from two vineyards in the Cromwell Basin, Station Block and Silver Tussock, the latter planted on schist. It’s a citrus-driven riesling focused on scents of lime zest and grapefruit. The flintiness in the aroma and the vegetal aspects broaden to layers of kumquat and cream as the wine takes on air. It's firmly structured, ready to decant for a shellfish stew." (02/14)

Description:

Knowledgeable wine lovers are aware of New Zealand's reputation as a great source for Sauvignon Blanc. Less widely known is the ultra high quality of many New Zealand Rieslings, which often fly under the radar of recognition.

Tonight's your lucky night, as we have an outstanding New Zealand Riesling at a ridiculously good price.

The 2012 Mt. Difficulty "Roaring Meg" Riesling, from Central Otago, NZ, is a beautifully crafted Riesling, not too sweet or dry, perfectly balanced with bright acidity, making it an ideal choice with food. At the same time, it's such a compelling wine, you can even enjoy it unaccompanied!

"Established in 1992, Mt Difficulty is home to some of Central Otago’s oldest and most revered vineyards. Situated along Felton Road in the famous sub-region of Bannockburn, Central Otago, this unique area of extremes is ideally suited to crafting wines that speak with a sense of place. Mt. Difficulty's philosophy combines ethical viticulture with minimal intervention allowing the wine to express its personality and reflect its home.

The 2012 Mt. Difficulty "Roaring Meg" Riesling shows excellent concentration of cool climate character, with citrus and pip fruit blossom aromas. The palate is dominated by bright red apple flavors. The wine is an off-dry style with a lovely backbone of natural acidity. This wine beautifully displays the elegance and finesse of this versatile and interesting variety. You will be rewarded by careful cellaring although this Riesling is drinking very well right now." - Winery
