Sordo has become one of Wine Library's favorite Barolo producers, as his wines combine high quality with low price, the best of both worlds. Today, we offer Sordo's top-of-the-line 2010 Barolo from the prestigious Rocche di Castiglione vineyard - a 94 pointer by Wine Enthusiast.
This is a single vineyard cru, located in the "sweet spot" of Castiglione Falletto. You should expect more from this wine. And trust us, it delivers!
Many of the best characteristics of the 2010 Barolo vintage can be found in the 2010 Sordo Barolo Rocche di Castiglione. It's a wonderful Barolo at any price, ideal for pairing with traditional Italian cuisine and just as good drinking solo. Very highly recommended!

"This wine impresses us for the hue, intensity, and the extraordinary beauty of its color. A beautiful set of garnets and rubies that illuminate the crystal goblet. Wine perfectly brilliant, that leaves traces vinous dense walls of glass. Its alcoholic strength is expressed as an abundant formation of arches and tears. We are surprised by the intensity, richness and great length of the bouquet. The characteristics of the grape varieties are enriched with extended sensations net and elegant that remind us of the ripe fruits of black cherries, blueberries and peach jam. Nuance floral "mountain hay" licorice and tobacco are giving way to those noble tertiary aromas that have formed, initially in oak casks of 15/20 hl. and subsequently reduced in the environment of the bottle. Vanilla and hints of wild berries and fine woods complement the olfactory sensations. On the palate we start a warm and enveloping.
