Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

93 Pts Wine Spectator

"The creamy white peach, apricot and guava flavors are accented by notes of basil and thyme in this expressive style. The minerally finish features hints of ripe gooseberry and blood orange, with a lacy texture. Drink now through 2035.-K.M." (02/14)

90 Pts Mosel Fine Wines

"This is attractive and firmly present on the nose with superb notes of pineapple, anise, pink grapefruit, banana, mango and cherry. These rich flavors of fruits continue right through on the palate in a juicy and quite powerful style with comparatively low acidity. This is clearly Auslese in style. 2022-2037." (10/13)

Description:

Vineyard:
"The Elisenberg vineyard faces almost due south in the beautiful valley running from Mulheim on the Mosel to Veldenz; the 4,3 hectares of the steep slope are largely composed of grey slate and quartz. The microclimate resembles that of the Ruwer valley and gives the Elisenberg Riesling a unique minerally character, quite different from that of the more flowery Middle Mosel wines."

"Stuart Pigott, the most knowledgeable wine writer, considers the Veldenzer Elisenberg to be among the top quality sites in Mosel-Saar-Ruwer. The Elisenberg Rieslings have aromas of the red peaches which flourish in the vineyards and hints of gooseberries, with concentrated citrus flavours, grapefruit and even blackcurrant from very ripe, late-picked grapes. They all have a long after-taste and great ageing potential." - Importer

Producer:
"The estate of Max Ferdinand Richter has been owned by the Richter family for more than 300 years. Today this enterprise, owned and run by winemaker Dirk Richter, is one of the leading producers of top Rieslings in the heart of the central Mosel area with total holdings of 43 acres and an annual production of about 10,500 cases."

"Richter not only produces fine wines that are well known throughout the world, such as Erdener Treppchen, Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Graacher Himmelreich, and Brauneberger Juffer, but also two coveted top wines: Mülheimer Helenenkloster and Veldenzer Elisenberg. The possession of these vineyards dates back to 1813 when their ancestor, in an extreme demonstration of personal courage, succeeded in preventing the sacking of Mülheim by Napoleon. They produce a wide variety of wines from estate-grown grapes that reflect the individual style of each single vineyard. The terroir of their steep vineyard sites is generally fresh weathering grey slate with different compositions of ferruginous (Brauneberg), mineral quartz (Veldenz), or clay soils (Graach, Erden, Wehlen, Mulheim), which determine character and flavour."

"The wines of Max Ferdinand Richter enjoy worldwide acclaim. They are ambassadors of the rich cultural heritage of the unique Mosel landscape." - Importer
