Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

91 Pts Wine & Spirits

"Taurus is blended from granite and orthogneiss terroirs at l'Ecu, which has been certified biodynamic since 1998. The wine is wild and fragrant, presenting as beautiful what might appear as a collection of flaws in a less finely grown, less robustly healthy Muscadet. Toasty (oxidative), almost red-fruited (tannic) in its pale strawberry flavors, this has the scent of a flower garden by the sea." (04/13)

Description:

Wine:
"New to the Ecu lineup, the Taurus (named for the astrological sign of owner Fred) is an oak aged Muscadet from vines grown primarily in Orthogneiss soils. It boasts an expressive nose of lemon and honey and is rich and luscious on the palate. The wine is marked by intense minerility and, lovely balance and great character." - Importer

Winemaking:
"Organically farmed since 1975, biodynamic-demeter certified since 1998. Soil worked manually and yields are kept low. All grapes are hand harvested. Gravity fed with no use of pumps. Wild yeast fermentations with no racking of the must. Aged on the lees for 10 months in underground vats, followed by 6 months in old barrels." - Importer

Producer:
"For many years, under the guidance of the talented Guy Bossard, this domaine has held its place in the top eschelon of producers in Muscadet. The estate was also one of the early practitioners of organic viticulture, well before it was fashionable to do so, and has been certified Organic for over 40 years and certified Biodynamic for over 20. Bossard is fanatic in the vineyards, crops extremely low, and produces Muscadets that have remarkable depth, precision, as well as ageability. Unlike most regular Muscadet, the wines are aged sur-lie for around 15 months, so the current 2010 vintage is just being released."

"The estate produces three different "flagship" Muscadets, each crafted from different subsoils of the region; Gneiss, Orthogneiss and Granite. The estate has recently changed ownership, as Bossard had no heirs who wanted to take over the property. The estate is now owned by a passionate, wine-loving gentleman named Frederik Niger Van Herck. Frederick is most definitely a "hands-on" owner, and is dedicated to maintaining the greatness of this singular estate. To that end, he has retained Bossard as an ongoing consultant to work side-by-side in both the vineyards and cellar to make sure that the transition is smooth for years to come." - Importer
