"The Sauvignon Blanc is once again beautiful in 2012. Rich, sensual and textured in the style of the year, the 2012 impresses for its balance and harmony. As always, the Lieu Dit Sauvignon is extremely varietally expressive, but in 2012 the vintage had added a little creaminess that wasn't present in the 2011. Lime, mint and sage are some of the many notes that ring out on the bright, saline infused finish. The 2012 was mostly fermented in tank and was aged in neutral oak. This is another fabulous wine from Lieu Dit." (07/13)

"Former sommelier Eric Railsback makes these Loire-inspired wines with Justin Willett of Tyler. The house style emphasizes vibrancy and energy, much of which comes from picking on the early side. These wines are loaded with personality, class and character." - Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Winemaking:
"Working with 3 different vineyards to the eastern edge in the Santa Ynez Valley in the AVA Happy Canyon. The vineyards are approximately an equal split in terms of volume of blend and are: McGinley, Grassini, and Star Lane. The fruit was picked on the early side (21.8, 22.5 and 22.8 brix on the different parcels), whole cluster pressed to tank and then fermented in both stainless steel and in neutral barrels. After fermentation, all lots were put in neutral barrels through the winter before being racked out to tank a few months prior to bottling." - Winery
