2007 - Quinta Do Noval Silval Port
"Probably my all time favorite of the Silval bottlings. Bold flavors of brambly blueberry and blackberry pie and a bit grapy at this stage. Good acidity and easy to drink now with round, drying tannins. A delicious and persistent juicy finish prevailed. Drink between 2025 and 2035." (05/10) - 93+ Pts Roy Hersh - For the Love of Port
"Bright ruby. High-pitched, very ripe aromas of blackberry, spicecake, licorice pastille and rose petal, with a whiff of brandy. Impressively tactile and concentrated, with a three-dimensional texture to the rich flavors of blackberry, bitter chocolate, flowers and spices. Distinctly high-pitched, even a bit youthfully aggressive, but wonderfully pure wine. Finishes broad and long, with lovely sweetness and impressive grip. A superb showing, and a very good value in the context of vintage port." (01/10) - 92 Pts Stephen Tanzer - International Wine Cellar
"The Silval bottling from Quinta do Noval, which is effectively their second label vintage port, is very lovely in 2007, as the wine displays dramatic depth of fruit and great purity and solid structural integrity. The superb bouquet soars from the glass in a complex blend of black cherries, black raspberries, tar, licorice, lovely soil tones, delicate smokiness and cedar. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and rock solid with sappy fruit at the core, with ripe, beautifully-integrated tannins, tangy acids, great focus and a very long, pure and palate-staining finish. This is made in a more forward style that will not insist on long aging before it begins to drink brilliantly, but it will have no difficulties aging for at least the next thirty-five years. A lovely example of the vintage. 2014-2050." (10/12) - 91 Pts John Gilman - View from the Cellar
"This is a wonderfully focused and intense young Vintage Port, with notes of flowers, crushed berries and cherry. Full-bodied and very sweet, with ripe berry and jam flavors. Long and powerful. Best after 2016. 1,000 cases made. -JS" (05/10) - 90 Pts Wine Spectator
"Such vibrant young fruit! Chock-full of plum jam, bramble stew, beautiful mouthfeel and supple tannins with a chocolate and peppery note on the finish. Made to mature quicker than their other vintages, and this is definitely drinkable now, though would really benefit from more time. Drink from 2012 to 2022.(RH)" (08/1) - 17 out of 20 Points, Jancis Robinson's Purple Pages
"Silval is a particularly open and accessible style of Vintage Port, with the accent on exuberance of fruit. Made for lovers of Vintage Port who do not want to wait too long, it can be enjoyed when young and very fruity. This is a serious Vintage Port which will also repay years of cellar ageing.
Grapes for the 2007 are taken essentially from the Quinta do Noval vineyard, but also from A-rated vineyards at the heart of the Douro Valley." - Winery

2011 - Gianni Doglia Moscato D'asti
"This pretty Moscato d'Asti shows a rich, creamy quality, thanks to the sweet tones of honey, peach and exotic fruit that drive the bouquet. The texture is sticky and thick, but a zesty touch of fresh acidity shows up right at the end to keep the palate refreshed." (05/12) - 88 Pts Wine Enthusiast
"Straw yellow with green highlights. Intense and intoxicating. The aromatic varietal tones are arranged in delicate floral nuances such as jasmine, rose, sage and mint memories of d tones of peach, apricot, pineapple and banana. On the palate it is a natural lively wine, and the sweet and aromatic taste is accompanied by a fresh final citrusy with a long persistence."
"To preserve the wine all the fragrance of the fruit technique is necessary for the collection and special vinification. The grapes grown in the vineyards owned by the company, are harvested by hand in the vineyard and stored carefully in boxes for transport to the winery, here are gently pressed and the juice thus obtained is stored in storage tanks (-1.5 degrees C and 0 % alcohol) until processing in the autoclave. The second fermentation takes place in temperature controlled and with the help of selected yeasts until it reaches 5 % alcohol. Then the wine is filtered and bottled. The result is a lively wine with strong varietal characteristics and intense." - Winery
"Produced from an ultra-soft pressing of the white Muscat grape, this stylishly elegant wine blends the slightly "frizzante" sweetness of Moscato d'Asti with vibrant, concentrated, tropical fruit flavors, great complexity, refreshing, crisp acidity and a pristinely fresh, clean finish. 3000 cases. Held in tank under pressure and bottled to order." - Importer
"The young, passionate, Gianni Doglia, along with his sister Paola own five hectares of vineyards with 20-year-old vines near the village of Castagnole Lanze in the heart of the Asti district of Piemonte. The Doglia Moscato is uniquely held under pressure in tanks, as grape must and then the wine is finished and bottled to order, ensuring the absolute, freshest possible expression of Moscato d'Asti throughout the vintage. Within a category that is normally dedicated to large, commercial, volume production, Doglia's estate grown vineyards produce a miniscule, quantity of 3000 cases of artisan made Moscato d'Asti, whose quality is unmatched in the Moscato category." - Importer
