Please note, orders are processed on a first come basis. If you leave the wine in your cart for even a few minutes it might have already sold out as our stock quantity is removed when you submit the order in final, not when you add it to your cart!

You will get two emails from us with regards to your order. The first email from us only confirms that we received your order. The second email will confirm that we have enough wine to fill your order. Due to the high volume of sales there are times when the wine has sold out, but our system is still updating and shows it as available. We're sorry for any inconvenience and will do what we can to fill your order!

Thanks to your feedback we might bring back some of Cinderella Wine's popular previous offers. If a wine makes another appearance here, this newer offer will always be slightly higher than the original one. Offers that are on the site on Friday through Sunday will be shipped on Monday.

90 Pts Ian Dagata - Vinous Media

"Bright red. Strawberry, red cherry and violet on the nose. Bright and fresh on the palate, with crunchy red fruit and mineral flavors carrying through on the lively, clean, long finish. With its bright fruit cocktail quality, this is an excellent example of just how much early appeal an easygoing Chianti can have. I was generous with my score given its yum factor." (09/12)

Description:

Winemaking:
"90 % Sangiovese; 10% Merlot. Practicing biodynamic. The vineyard is in the commune of Sinalunga, southeast of Siena and northeast of Montepulciano. The soil is predominantly loam and sand with some clay and a larger proportion of stone and chalk. Simple Guyot with average yield of 40-45 hl /hectare (1.78-2 tons/acre). Exclusively by hand, at various times in October. Automatic daily punch-downs during fermentation at 28-30 degrees C, followed by 10-12 day maceration. Draining-off after fermentation and transfer in March to small and medium-sized casks for 8-12 months' maturation. 4-6 months' bottle-ageing." - Importer

Farnetella:
"In 1981 the owners of Felsina purchased the historic estate of Castello di Farnetella. Located about 30 minutes southeast of Castelnuovo Berardenga, this property should be considered a monopole cru among the otherwise uninspired appellation of Chianti Colli Senesi. The property and village of Farnetella encompasses a large hill, the top of which is near 560 meters in elevation. It has a mix of soils on it including sand, clay and limestone. While Farnetella is well-suited to Sangiovese, which makes up a majority of its plantings, there are also plots of Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon."

"The vineyards at Farnetella are all hand harvested and are farmed with the same attention and precision as those at Felsina. Organic, sustainable agriculture is practiced and they have incorporated some of the principals of biodynamics as well. Also, as at Felsina, the entire production is made from estate fruit."

"The wines at Farnetella range from the soft and approachable Chianti Colli Senesi to the more structured Poggio Granoni. The Chianti Colli Senesi has more flesh and is perhaps, more approachable than the Felsina Chianti Classico, but it is by no means less complex. It offers tremendous quality at its price point." - Importer
